You know things have changed massively and your needs have to, not least because your clients’ worlds have been upended as well as yours.

That means big challenges in the way you support your staff in their development:

  • How you actually re-start or keep on developing them

  • How you keep them engaged when working remotely

  • How you keep their energy and motivation high

Our experience in running training in the last 18 months has been one massive learning curve of tweaking and testing, but always with eyes on the above.

"there’s an endless variety of tools you can employ to keep things buzzing in your sessions"

We are now able to share with you a list of things that need to happen in the training you run with your people if you’re to get the most value from it:

  1. Less input means MUCH more learning –80/20 or even 90/10 should be the ratio you’re aiming for in explaining a concept v them practicing it, roleplaying it and reflecting/setting actions.

  2. Make it relevant – more important than ever; if it’s an abstract or complicated concept then time, motivation and energy become major barriers to implementing it.

  3. Make it immediate – could they use it today? Great. If not, chuck it out.

  4. Group your learners by similar levels of experience – a blanket Zoom session or eLearning module can’t please everyone.

  5. Running larger groups because it’s virtual is a false economy – it becomes a seminar, reduces engagement and interactivity. None of that means valuable training sessions for you or your staff.

  6. Layer your sessions – use eLearning and live sessions, nudges and programmatic structures. In the learning run polls, quick quizzes, have personas, breakouts, videos…there’s an endless variety of tools you can employ to keep things buzzing in your sessions and on the learning journey itself.

If you are re-introducing your people back to sales and commercial learning, or if you’re running sessions or programmes that you’re finding are not working as well as they might, then drop me a line or book in a call and we can diagnose what’s next for you.
